Dystopian dreams

Posted by maxxpump - September 14th, 2016

I am now working on the sucessor to dystopian peace which has clocked over a thousand views on some platforms. Dystopian peaces format has this flowing and very dancable beat and synthesis layout, Its got nearly trip hop drums, and as I have seen all the comments Ive had from people, I've decided to make dystopian peace no.4: Dystopian dreams (or should I say nightmare...). This will have the same flow as the original but will be much more heavier and build up into something which I going to sound amazing!

I have the Dystopain Suite to release later which is a mix of Dystopian peace, Dystopain Rock and The end as we know it. The song is based on all out nuclear war and what happens afterwards. It has aspects taken from Jean-Michel Jarre and Vangelis and I scored it after watching blade runner and reading 1984 by Wells.

This may go anyway as the origianl is electronica, with a touch of rock, this may turn out to go a bit drum and bass like. But this is very much a work in progress and will be out sometime...maye the weekend or next week.

This is the original: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/651032

Ive now got the structure down and its now available to beta test, if you want to test the track get back to me...

The full release will be next Wednesday at 12:00 GMT.

Edit 1: Ive just finished finalizing the piece, it now needs mastering (hence I won't release it now), I've just processed it with my waves mastering suite and its starting to sound really good, but I'm not a 100% sure on the compsitions arrangment and theres still a lot more work to do before it can be released.

The new piece is going to be New Wave, Electro-Industrial, Electronic/electronica which was inspired by Jean Michel-Jarres newer work, Its made for subwoofer and has a very good sonic mix. Im still fianlizing the mix for the drums and this will take the longest as I want this tune to contain multipul different types of beat patterns, that will change the Eb and flow of the overall piece. I could have just slapped soem drum and bass samples in there, but whats the fun in that.

Edit 2: I've now onto V1.5 and its been extended to six minutes, still looking for beta testers...this is going to be a big tune, and it sounds absloutely banging on my Hi-Fi and Subwoofer system, Im yet to test it in my car. There is lots of variation in there and it flows like any industial new wave should go. I can not wait to release it and show what I've been upto and to kind of show off my lead solo playing (which has been now mapped down on keytar). The arpeggios on this track kind of sound like the work that Kebu has done on his youtube channel (and he a sicker keyboard player than I am!), I've added some notation which is reminiscent of Gerorgio moroder (Nowhere to his level, but its sounding excellent).

I hope this track to have at leats 110% the impact then Dystopian Peace, btu this new song has a different feel to it and I haven't exactly taken many of the arps or synth soudn choices, apart from Dystopains infamous drone which I produced by a real sampled CS-80 and been heavily processed, but enough that it has mashed up the amazing tone of the CS-80. I just need to do a remaster and run the track through my valve equipment and it should be ready. This is set to be released on all my platforms at the same time.

I also just added polysynth sounds from my Yamaha EX-800, I've also added some reinforcement in there from Nexus (to help beef up the bass sound and give the song more flow). I've got Waves Ir-1 and Compression on every channel now and the drums are soudnign really fat and punchy (mainly as I've shoved them through Izotopes Ozone 4).
