Inspired by concept of Guitar vs Piano!

Posted by maxxpump - August 29th, 2017

I've just released a quite over the top guitar, piano, and synth piece, which is called "Synth Madness", it takes inspiration and the concept from "Guitar vs Piano V2" as well as inspiration from watching prince play electric guitar on a video, which was prince, Jeff lynne and tom petty, performing "While my guitar gently weeps" if you haven't seen it and love crazy electric guitar playing go and watch it, its absolutely insane! On "Synth Madness" I use most of the most complicated chord sequences I know and most of it is in 6's and 7ths, with few odd ball notes put in here and there. I played pretty much all of it in on half speed and then reprocessed it. It is a pretty cool, and completely insane track, which would appropriately called Electro-Metal, but I just whacked it into the Misc category as it didn't quite fit anywhere else. I also played chords for most of the synth sections and it basically ended up with a few funky dual chord combinations, I didn't explore discordance which I should of really done, but the ramp off piano at the end is pretty wacky, and I would call it non conventional playing, it's a bit jazzy, a bit fusion, but at the same time it sounded good so I added it. I as usual used Strawberry guitar by Evolution, the synthesiser of choice was good old Vanguard, which again I've made own custom presets for. Here is the track in question: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/762955

I did a load of work with Davis loman last night, which included a 1980's rock track, which sounds pretty cool and the vocal really suited it. http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/762893

We also did a track called "Hop back to Reality" which is a blade runner sounding, jazzy dance track, I think he released it at the wrong time (i.e: the middle of the night), and he really didn't get any views on it, It has synth playing by me and Dan and its not turned out to be such a bad track, It also has some funky synthetic saxophone work in there also, which is very Creo in nature. http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/762861

I also did a bit of consulation on Fireball01e's piece which was inspired by Creo music. I think its sounds pretty cool, pretty Creo and its not OTT either. http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/762850

I'm currently working on a few pieces most of them with a slightly rock nature, which I may get out in time for tonight.
