I've got to say I had a lot of fun making this even if its not considered something that something like Skrillex would produce, personally it may even be a bit OTT! Mind you it's got nice flow to it and I really like your drum programming and the way you've arranged it, because it kind of sounded a bit of a mess when I left yours.

Glad you like the mix, had to thin it out a bit, but I got a result from it at least. Definitely not Dubstep, but as you said its meant to be non conventional Terra-step, definitely not Poo-step as you put on news feed!

I see...Very technical, mid eight is a bit over the top, but all in all its got very good flow and is a danceable track. Drops not very good mind, but this tracks better than anything I've produced this week. Maybe you need to play around with your drum selection a little more, but all in all I do like the track in general.

fireball01e responds:

I may change the drums out at some point, but I'm kind of waiting on others opinions first before I set back to work on it. This was a bit of an experiment for me, but this is not and would not call this an experimental track. I called it as I did because it was inspired by Jean Michel Jarre's Equinoxe 4, and this is my view if his track was dance floor dance, not just laid back electronica. I overworked the drop which is unlike my style and as they say you can't polish a turd, I remade it I thought it sounded better, but come to think of it I could do better. This is more of a learning experience for me anyway and the changes will be learned and put into next composition, because unlike you I hate re-releasing stuff as it gets boring really fast and I can spend my time more better by just making fresh work.

"Machines" from Metropolis, is one of my favourite Moroder tracks, you got the bass right and the drums are not bad. That EMS you brought back from Germany sounds amazing, I want it as it seems nice and clean. You do with the Gemini 2?

fireball01e responds:

No I used a Dynamic mic, the EMS only connects this way and there's no way without a pre amp. Unfortunately you ain't using the 1800 as it was extremely expensive and it took ages to tune it properly and especially after you had a "look" at it the other day!

don't agree with "alt3no" in the slightest, think the drums are not bad. Only complaint is muddiness and repetitive nature

fireball01e responds:

Most strange kid, he said that then proceeded to privately mail me apologize saying he didn't think and was in a bad mood. I guess being on a anonymous and in public does some strange things to people.

I like quite a lot, see you used my version of El clasico! not too shabby!

may put it on Soundcloud if you'll let me

I'm about to go to sleep, very productive night and the songs hit the ground running as I released it earlier on Soundcloud and Facebook and it's doing really well! Thanks for the Master mix as I didn't really want to do it, but there is something which is bugging me, I can't hear the Solina string synth on the track and my organ playing is pretty low, so maybe you could have another look see in the morning. Vocals sounding really good, slightly quiet in the beginning, but as soon as the harmonies kick in it really lifts the rest of the vocals.

fireball01e responds:

I will get around to doing a small amount of mixing, but I need you to come around as I want to re-track the vocals as they are definitely very weak at the start of the song, and as I know you can sing fairly well, I want you to do a retake of the main vocal anyway.

I don't know what happened to the ol Solina as It was a fairly loud recording and your right you just can't hear it. The organ unfortunately is sitting very well in the mix and I wouldn't like to turn it up anymore, sorry stu!

I saw your facebook and Blog post, looking really good!

I knew you were working on something, but this is amazing! I think I need to brush up on my production skills. Can you send me a image for my Akai sampler? the strings are banging! how long did it take you? which trombone did you use, muted, mute mic, over heads, direct recording...how the hell did you get a signal that clean! Anyway still awaiting you new mix for power of love, and maybe get around to releasing that other song you showed me last week...

fireball01e responds:

There's nothing really wrong with your production skills, but polishing them up never hurts. I still would advise you to do more recording with your Tascam digital recorder, and you may end up with cleaner mixes, unfortunately your skill of sequencing and playing everything into Cubase makes your mixes sound muddy, and thats a known problem with Cubase,, hence I migrated to Pro tools a long time ago as I couldn't stand the audio quality that Cubase output. I would give you the samples but they are currently mapped across five units and I know you have a S5 and a S6K, but thats not going to do you much good. I used the Yamaha Trombone and I used the Mute pickup (silent playing system by Yamaha). I'll post up the power of love in due time and the song I showed you ain't finished yet as it needs quite a bit of mixing. Length of time it took me was about two days, but I took me about a week to get the samples working correctly.

Absolutely excellent you've taken this to a whole new level, I think more collaborations are in order.
Please PM me later and we can discuss what we will do next. That piano sound is amazing where you get it from? and the harmonies work so well. You've definitely captured the 80's tone of the original song!

fireball01e responds:

Its still Alicia's Keys, thanks for the pointer, it's a lovely piano sound. Yes I tried to capture the sound of MX as much as possible and yes it sounds quintessentially 80's. I'll email you later, but i'm not sure about creating many more projects, mainly as im busy doing studio work for the next few weeks. But I would like to do down the 25 again with you as well as green energy. I'm thinking of buying sylenth any pointers before I spend the dough?

Its pretty cool, but Im not to happy about that electric guitar sound? I beg you to do My Girl again but in my style as I know you could probably do it! Start with the piano, build up the pad sounds and use dance drums! I know its up to you if you want to do it. I'll send you a PM with the literature, if you want?

fireball01e responds:

I'm so sorry :( I had no idea what this song means to you, I'm starting a new version as I speak, a more danceable version. How long ago? I just thought it was another of your dance songs you have produced I never thought of the connections, until I came across your comments on your newer my girl version. I will make this new version the sickest I've ever made anything!

Pretty cool song dude! Hope you are good, im on the edge of my seat waiting for your next piece!

fireball01e responds:

There should be more out tonight friend! PM me I want to arrange another session with you!
