You know people can be so cruel sometimes, i.e: I put a track up on Soundcloud which was a Dubstep/EDM piece (which I've now put up onto Newgrounds which you can find here: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/748116?updated=1496513125). I've spent maybe two days on and off on the project, which I've made all my own sounds and been doing advanced sampling using Serum, made all my own drum kits, fiddled and spent maybe half a day mixing it. What do I get firstly a bunch of comments stating that I must be some child as it sounds like I'm using presets, well I can handle that, but then you get other people who say "hey, you know this doesn't sound like Dubstep" Well I've extensively studied drum patterns which skrillex uses, I've got my sounds to sound nice and deep like people like ZerryX, I've spent time chopping up different channels, mix downs of serum at different modulation rates, chopped and reversed some sections. Yeah I know my sound doesn't sound as clean as some one like Skrillex, but you know I am trying my hardest, what is Dubstep actually meant to sound like? I thought it originated from most different styles of EDM and Reggae music, and is an eclectic mix of different styles.

But no time and again I get people tell me, No! thats not dubstep, it has to sound exactly like Bangarang to be Dubstep? which is odd because this isn't the only sound used and its not the only artist which makes Dubstep on the planet. I tell you I'm really confused to what people want from me. Do you want me to make more like this (http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/700864) which is Dubstep, don't give a flying twat what anyone says on that, as you know it's the right tempo, the right drums and the right soundset, but still I get told its not Dubstep...Yeah I know i'm not Skrillex or ZerryX, I don't want to be like them, yes I might aspire to them, but the last thing I want to do is to start copying people and be like Derp, i've made a another Game Over (which I think is a pretty cool song, but I would never try to emulate it as I want to build on my own style).

I guess I could always just stop...go back to cubase and make another dance tune, but I'm attempting to get away from sounding like some generic DJ...i.e. Tiesto, cough! I would like to explore my own avenue of sound and release music that I find fun making. Bahhh! I hate always been forced to make something so generic, that A.) the masses would love, B.) makes loads of money super quick, I'm not really in it for financial gain, but you know studio doesn't buy itself. I want to be a innovator like Mr Jarre or Mr Moroder, but being an innovator in this day and age is extremely hard, because when it comes to most of the generalised styles, everything's been done. We're technically just recycling old musical chord sequences, doing a bit of a song and dance to jazz it up and make it sound original. But as I said I would just love to get away from the rest of the sheep, and be a wolf!

I like to start with thanks to all the well wishers from my Single release with Freedom, Do you love me and just like you (radio mix). It's been produced through the mentioned label Parlophone, and its a right honor...

I'm gobsmacked, nearly twenty thousand sales, facebooks been insane, as well as soundcloud and myspace, what can I say; Thankyou to everyone who has supported me in the last decade and thanks to those who wrote into different labels on my behalf, voting for little old me, and I got a letter back three weeks ago from Parlophone saying that they wanted my music to master for a disk, a single! I selected Freedom "that 80's sound" and bang they released it under my name Unchained Exedist! and last week, which I never hoped for ever in my wildest dreams, it charted on the top 100 chart. I'm now waiting to hear if they will give me a semi-perminant contract.

I've been asked to submit a remix of Freedom, and we have vocals recorded from people I would never have dreamed of, and Fireball-01e is doing the remix, hopefully, in a EDM style.

I just want to say thankyou to everyone who has supported me and thank god for the exisitance of Fireball-01e

Fraunhofer has dropped MP3 support...

So it looks like the head company which produced MP3 codec has dropped the codec in favour of a newer version of OGGVorbis, which means Cubase 10 when its released will most probably not have MP3 support, so what that means for Newgrounds which only has support for MP3 files, are they going to upgrade? or am I going to have an ordeal everytime I want to upload something (and no my bitching is not just me its across multi platforms and it looks like they are looking at phasing out MP3 on most systems, in the very near future, So this will mean musicians will be stuck with older decoders which will work for the mean while, but even Lame are stating that they are going to follow suit).

I produce nearly all my files into MP3 so they work on Soundcloud, Mixcloud and Newgrounds, as well as in my car stereo. I want to in the future upgrade to a better DAW as Cubase 9 is lacking features which they removed since Cubase 5 in view of a more stream lined product. So when 10 comes out I most likely will have to upgrade (mainly as my studios service contract states they get value added upgrades when and where they come out. So that means I will be forced to upgrade anyway).

I don't like buggering around with converters and MP3 isn't the best and never has been the best format for music, and just wonder if Newgrounds are going to follow suit and upgrade to OGG or Wave.

What do you guys think do you think this is going to happen, or do you think NG will be lost to the ages.

I'm currently working on a old popular song called "Strange Sounds", with usage of Serum I will be able to make this a very good sound scape. Not sure if I will use the original audio samples, what does everyone think! I'll post the original in a moment! Here it is on Youtube, I'm suprised its not in my Newgrounds directory!...https://youtu.be/jqGAAv8sFH4

Well as you may or may not know from the song I released ealier that I have and have been diagnosed with having AS (Asbergers Syndrome), and one of my fasinations and repedative behavours is making and playing music. I make upwards (when I get free time) upto and beyond ten tracks a day, only a small amount make it to publication. I was diagnosed when I was seven years old and most probably was born with it.  I had absoute hell through high school, through bullying and people picking on me because of my disablity. I didn't know if talking about this on newgrounds was a good idea, but since people are asking me more and more questions about me, I thought it was about time it was out in the open. The condition doesn't affect me to much these days apart from being clumbsy, coordination problems, speech imediment (hence I have problems singing), eye sight issues and I genrally think most of the time differently to the rest of the planet (apprently). If you have any questions feel free to ask, but with me saying this nothing has changed, im still the same person and the ship will carry on sailing!

How long have you produced music for:

I've been producing music since I was seven years old (1996), I've only been really serious about it in the last five or so years.

I see you do alot of sequencing do you use hardware, and what hardware do you own:

I do mainly sequence a majority of my music, but I do use outboard samplers as I find them much better equipt than some software samplers I've tried in the past, i.e: Kontakt, Serum, Perxis. I own a Roland Juno-106, Juno D, Yamaha Tyros and Motif ES, Korg Triton and M3, Radias, and Microsampler (all keyboards). I own a Yamaha A3000 sampler and a Akai S6000 sampler. I have different outboard effects and stomp boxes, as well as gates, compressors and other channel strips. I own a Tascam DP-02 Digital Recorder, as well as a Yamaha Tape deck and a Akai Reel to Reel. I have a M-Audio CTRL 49 MIDI keyboard, Presonus soundcard as well as a pair of Adam main monitors, a pair of KRK G3's 6's active nearfield monitors, a pair of Heco Lab 2's reference speakers and two Nakamichi PA-7 Amps to power the Heco's. As many know I have a 120 bass Weiltmeister Diana Piano Accordion, three melodicas, a selection of harmonica's. I also have two consender microphones, and about ten dynamic SM58 clones. To top off I have a Doepfler system 1000 and four circuit bent stylophones.

I see you've just been on tour of the UK and parts of europe, when are you coming to the US?

Our fan base at the moment is mostly in the UK, some parts of france and Holland, and thats about it. So until we establish ourselves more over the pond, theres not much point. Sorry!

Did you ever have music lessons, or are youself taught?

Good Question! I had about seven years of Trombone lessons, two years on Violin and about a year and a bit on Accordion. I'm self taught piano, organs and keyboard. I would say I'm about grade five (English music system scale), I'm currently receiving vocal lessons and may take classical piano lessons at some point in the future.

I went to college and did musical and production engineering, plus apprenticship, for around five years, and have nearly eight years experience in total working at viarious studios across the UK.

You have said before you are a technician at a studio, what studio, what do you do and how much do you get per year, as I'm interested in working in the industry.

I work for a high school friends dads old studio, in Brighton and Shoreham By Sea, its called "Lomax Studios" and the shoreham studio is called "Big Idea, Ideal Solutions Studios". Lomax studios gets in bands and singers when the big idea is for orchestral recordings as well as company internal projects, i.e: recently been making remakes of hit music for usage in supermarkets. I personally make cables, repair equipment, set bands up, play with the microphones, fiddle with outboard to make the signal clean, then some very light mixing (mainly as we have three seprate mix artists which work at our company. One for genral, one for live and general mixing and a guy thats very good at mastering tracks). Last year I got paid £24k which ain't bad, but as the industry goes it not brilliant either. The mix artists get upto £50k a year, and davis is on around 80, but he owns the studio. I probably get about 10k in bonuses, and get paid for over time as well. We get free health insurance, and four weeks paid vacation per year.

Daniel Aka Fireball is on about double what I make but he works with us plus, leases his personal studio out during the week, and does recordings for clients on weekends,

I have my own personal room on site with my own mixing console, all my outboard, small live room, but no spefic vocal recording space. Having my own space there has really helped me as I can go in there when I'm free and make my own music. I probably have this honor as I'm close friends with the boss, and we have been so for the last two decades. So I found my way into the industry through friends, and if your looking for a job, this is the best way to go about doing things, otherwise you would most probably have to have a Degree of some description, plus about a decade of work experience.

You release so many genres of music its hard knowing if your going to bring out my style of music that day or not?

I get a lot of complaints about myself writing all sorts of different genres of music. But I do this to avoid A.) been type cast as a [EDM, ROCK, DnB, etc...] Producer, B.) I need to change it up on a regular bases as to avoid boredom. C.) I'm improving all areas of my sound and composition skills and trying to stay as fresh as humanily possible.

If you like a specfic genre of my music tell me and I'll try and push the boundaries in that direction.

How many genres of music do you produce and why?

The what and why is in the last answer, but I make, Dance, Trance, Trip, Drum and bass, dance floor, Disco, Electronica, Rock, Metal, Rap and Hip hop, Italio, New wave, Synth wave and many more and inbetween these genres as well as my own fusion styles.

Where do you download your VSTi's and VSTe's?

Well I use VST4free which is a site doing freeware VST's of most descriptions. Apart from that I do something called, purhasing VSTs through our studio but with multi computer licensing, that way we save a bundle of money. When I went to college I got things like my DAW Cubase with an educational License, again this makes things a lot cheaper.

Whats your favourite VST or hardware, if any?

Favourite VSTi is Vanguard because its an excellent dance and trance synth and wasn't too expensive.

Whats your most regrettable music sale, or swap?

My Yamaha A3000 (the first one I purchased), plus my Juno-G

How much do you charge for a track?

Same as most people, how many hours it took at my rate of £12 an hour, plus rights to the royalties of the track and my name as composer (as I don't do ghost producing!)

Your an MPC guy, tell me why did you buy a MPC?

I purchased a MPC to do all my drums on and try a different sampling and recording style.

New songs to look out for.

Last night we released our new Rock song which is based on 80's Classic Rock namely Lynryd Skynrd, sounds slightly like Freebird, with completly original chording and vocals and harmonies recorded by Fireball01e, on Professional, Rode NT5 Stereo microphones. It was also recorded mainly with Protools and sounds like a really clean mix, master and remixed version to come as there are a few teething issues, but they should be rolled out by Fireball01e tomorrow morning, nothing major, just tweaking on the starting vocal as its a bit quiet and my rock organ bit is so low in the mix you can barely hear it.

There is a song called "I Wish I Could Go to Sleep" which I will release tonight, which is a EDM pop song again with pro recorded vocals by me.

There is an experimental Dubstep song which I will release tonight as well, which has a bit of rapping on it. I've called this piece a "Fusion" piece with many aspects of EDM music rapped into one, and it sounds like a real interesting mix of SFX and Synthesis and Vocals.

Then I have a pumping Hard EDM tune called "Discus" which also should be ready by tonight, which was all recorded in live using a mixture of ableton live on my Laptop and Pro tools, and has recordings of original patches which I've made on the Juno-D and using classical sounding synths provided by Predator 2.

A new album, the free one called DNA.

DNA should technically be released in about a fortnight, which includes inspired music taken from the 70's, 80's and the early 90's, Inspired namely by Giorgio Moroder, Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Kraftwerk, Bronskie Beat, Flock of Seagulls, Europe and many more bands then you can poke a stick at...This album will be available as one mix on Newgrounds and Bandcamp as a free (pay what ever you want album). This comprises of eighteen tracks all professionally mastered and some of my best work, mixed in with the cream of the crop of the last five years.

RNA the paid album will be availble in September, but that is very dependant on how many factors go in the coming months as its going to be mainly Analogue, recorded to Reel to Reel and Independently mastered by the local mastering firm. So it could be slightly later, fingers and toes crossed for a speedy production, even though the equipment we have at our disposal isn't the most reliable equipment on the planet, from things plainly not working when it wants too to synthesisers going out of tune, but we are working with limitations and will have to learn new techniques, with how to deal with this type of equipment.

New compostions to come in the near future.

We (me, davis, dan (fireball) and gazza) are working on a bunch more classical rock songs which are based on Rock from the 70's and 80's. We are also working on a few tracks of Electronica which will be mostly live tracks. We have inspired work from the Velvet Underground, to Jannis Joplin, Dire Straits, Simon and Garfunkle, and Daft Punks newest album Random Access Memories! (which is an amazing piece of production work and we are currently working on developing new techniques, for getting our recordings to sound as clean as some of there work. But its going to be very difficult and we are not masters of our art just yet, so we will see what happens.

New equipment also on its way over from Thomann.de

We have just ordered for my studio a pair of Adam monitors which were not exactly cheap by any margin, but hopefully with these new full range monitors (I only have nearfields, P.A and Heco Pro Lab 2 Reference monitors), so these should improve the overall quality of the masters, we also ordered a shared Valve microphone, which is going to be a Avantone CV-12, which coupled with the Valve preamps, should warm some of our vocals up a bit, and will especially be useful for upcoming Classical Rock works.

I hope everyone who is reading this is well, sorry about the bluntness of my last message, but I got so annoyed by theft of my music (that I even made a song last night, about it, with the message "Don't nick my music". But I've got a majority of the breaches sorted out, thankyou to everyone who took care and sent messages, It really helped!

Hello all,

I just found out after a few people alerted me that my music which I've been putting up onto Newgrounds has been used on a 3rd party YouTube, Facebook and Bandcamp accounts. I have contacted the organizations, which YouTube has taken action, but facebook and bandcamp have told me they had full permission which apparently I sent via the Newgrounds mail system to them, which I didn't. I've had many requests for single tracks which could be used for commercial projects which I've agreed, but I have had messages along the lines of "can we use your music, for our project", I've asked them what track and they have said "any track", which I've promptly refused, as its a massive breach on my part to allow this kind of thing. So from here on im reluctantly having to remove the Download feature, as well as give more stronger warnings on my tracks, as this can not continue. I apologize in advance, but I'm not giving the rip off merchants a chance to using my music else were when this is blatantly against Newgrounds rules as well as mine! If you want to have a track for a project please contact me.

P.S: I know this is coming from Newgrounds as I haven't posted to Youtube in months and all videos embed has been switched off so can't be ripped from the YT to MP3 websites!

For starters I am working on a track which takes aspects from JMJ oxygene and starting to sound really nice, I've got a pool of work that I've done in the last week which is begging to be made into some compostion, but they are only ideas at the moment and I seem to be heading into a bit of a composers block, so am remaking a load of pieces I've released in the last couple of years. If you have a favourite song of mine, state what it is and I'll try and recompose it or do a remix of said work.

I'm doing a project in three weeks time which is using Fireball01e's studio equipment and hopefully I can make some cool mixes, of other work which I'm slowly working on. I'm taking piano lessons at the moment as I've never been taught and learned everything you hear by,myself or what I learned from playing trumpet and trombone all those years ago, I may decide to pull out the brass and do something with Fireball n the near future, I'll see what happens as I'm extremerly rusty and haven't played for years due to a hernia which I was advised not to play anymore until I had it sorted out.

I'm learning a track called "forever Autumn" which is a song from war of the worlds on Accordion and may try and record that in the next few days and see how that turns out.
